Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is confident his side can knock favourites Barcelona out of the Champions League.
The Gunners welcome the Catalan giants to the Emirates Stadium tonight, for the first leg of their Champions League showdown, and Wenger is in confident mood.
The Arsenal boss believes his side have matured since last season, when Barcelona dumped them out at the quarter-final stage, and expects a more competitive contest than last year, when the Spanish side secured a 6-3 aggregate win.
"We don't deny the quality of Barcelona but what is important for us is we have a good opportunity to show who we are now," said Wenger.
"Not only that, we also want to show Barcelona we are capable of knocking them out."
The Arsenal boss is desperate to win the Champions League after coming agonisingly close in recent times, including a defeat in the final at the hands of Barcelona in 2006.
Wenger believes if Arsenal can knock-out the reigning La Liga champions it will provide a massive mental boost within his squad and set them in good stead for future European ties.
He added: "We want to win this competition and we know the only way to do that is to beat the super-favourites."
"If we knock Barcelona out, we straight away have a good chance to win the tournament."
